OUR STORY

Verdi is an historic restaurant founded in 1965 and located in the heart of Florence near the impressive S. Croce Square. Our family business began in 1991 when we transformed the space from a simple deli into a little family restaurant, giving the possibility to have a meal inside with lots of choice from our daily menu. Our specialties were immediately stuffed focaccia, or sandwiches, a new market for those years. This novelty lead us to create an innovative menu that followed the logic of a quick lunch within everyone's reach. Over time we have expanded and today the restaurant has two dining areas with comfortable tables for about 50 people and an outdoor terrace that gives the possibility to eat outdoors on those famous bright and sunny Florentine days.

Today we offer a wide choice of pasta, main courses and side dishes from the food counter as well as various fried dishes such as meatballs and croquettes handmade daily by our lovely Antonella. You can also choose sandwiches served on focaccia from the widely varied menu. They are made at the moment and served hot and toasted.

The restaurant has a wide selection of wines which can be served by the bottle or glass, selected by Pino and Martina who are both certified sommeliers.

We have dedicated ourselves to this work for many years and we will continue to do it with a lot of passion and enthusiasm for our customers as we try to create a welcoming environment where you can feel truly at home.
